Why wont anyone in my circle of friends believe me when i say that transformers is the most disappointing film i have seen in a long time...

seriously, a 20% approval rating on rotten tomatoes is NOT just critic worship, its true!

I did everything right, i left my brain at home, i acted like a giddy four year old, i fell in love with optimus prime, then i saw it and....

well to begin with i thought it was pretty fantastic, if not badly paced in actions scenes (explosions and robot transformations starting immediately is NOT the way to make an audience anticipate or react well), in fact i really thought it would be so cool

But, well i'll be brief, it ended up being too long (and I for one can sit through a 4 hour epic film anyday), too much explosions and CG, Badly CG'd in places, had the most repulsive dialogue ive heard in a while ( optimus to the fallen- "I rise, you FALL")and sports some of the most distasteful humour in a movie 4 year olds are watching in droves (i work at a cinema, some really honestly offensive racial stereotypes and the famously annoying Jar Jar Binks twins (good comparison).

I tried hard to enjoy it, but i cant help but feel that the director was just urinating all over our faces for two and a half hours. No kidding.

so anyway, I am now looking forward to James Camerons new revolutionary 3D film AVATAR (NOT the last airbender film, whos trailer does look kinda cool)

THAT apparently, after a recent footage screening, lives up to its hype. in fact this film is probably the definition of hype with industry proffessionals and critical audiences alike unable to describe their feelings of what they saw. I heard its like "dreaming with your eyes open"

FANTASTIQUE! one of the reasons i love living down the road from an imax.
